About

Life's Uncertain is a personal reflection site about finding meaning, humor, perspective, and better ways to live when life does not go according to plan.
The line in the header says it plainly: "so eat dessert first!"
That does not mean ignoring reality. It means remembering that the things that matter, like time, joy, and the things we keep postponing, are not guaranteed.
This site is where I write about uncertainty, disability, accessibility, health, mindset, connection, and the small choices that help us keep going. Some posts are practical. Some are reflective. Some are about everyday moments that meant more than they appeared to at the time.
I write from the perspective of someone who has lived through a clear before-and-after. That experience shapes the way I think about risk, gratitude, frustration, patience, planning, and what actually helps when life changes.
What you will find here
- Life Changed: Stories and reflections about injury, adaptation, loss, and rebuilding.
- Smarter Living: Practical ways to live better, prevent problems, build better routines, and solve daily problems.
- Mindset: Anxiety, patience, acceptance, frustration, perspective, and mental survival.
- Connection: Family, friends, strangers, community, empathy, and civil discourse.
- Moments: Food, memories, humor, observations, and ordinary things that become meaningful.
- Accessibility: Digital accessibility, assistive technology, real-world usability, and the barriers that should not be there.
Life's Uncertain is not only a disability site, and it is not only a health site. It is a place for lived experience, practical perspective, humor, loss, gratitude, and the things worth passing along.
Life is uncertain. So eat dessert first.
